Testimonials for Friends Alike

I heard about Friends Alike from a colleague and living on my own thought it a great opportunity to socialize. Since then I have been to numerous social events and visited many restaurants and eating houses. Being a dining club I was a bit concerned that it may be a bit too gourmet-ish for my simple tastes but the menus have been so varied it has proved quite exciting at times. Added to the very friendly welcome from the members the whole experience has been most enjoyable and rewarding.

I was introduced to Friends Alike by a friend 7 years ago. On my initial visit I was really impressed by the warm welcome that I received and the friendliness of all the members. During the past 7 years I have enjoyed many happy events, visiting many new restaurants that I may otherwise not have found.

The Club has a varied calendar and I always look forward to the next event and catching up with all the members. I really like the fact that Friends Alike are a non clique group and the table placings help to introduce people who may not have had the chance to speak to each other before.

I have been a member of Friends Alike for almost 8 years and it has been a saviour to me, especially after two close bereavements. Apart from enjoying good food at fine venues everybody is friendly and supportive and I would recommend the club to anybody who is looking for companionship without commitment and pressure.

Over the years Friends Alike has become like a family to me and for any 50+ singleton who would like their social dining with a bit more style I can recommend them.

— Keith from Lowestoft

Ideal social group for the single, mature person who enjoys an evening out once a month. Mostly dining events with the occasional summer outdoor event. Very welcoming, no pressure, highly recommended by a member of 20 years standing.

As someone who enjoys new experiences in my retirement, I was delighted to hear of Friends Alike and to be invited to attend one of their monthly events. I was made to feel very welcome and drawn into some lively conversation over dinner of good food and wine. I can certainly recommend the Club to other single retired people in search of friendship and opportunities for social get-togethers.

I joined Friends Alike approximately one year ago on the recommendation of a friend. At first I was a bit apprehensive to do so, however as soon as I made contact I knew I had made the right decision.

Friends Alike are a group of people who like to meet up once a month over a meal in a restaurant. On my first meeting with members I was surprised how welcoming everyone was and was soon feeling at ease.

Over the past year I have attended nearly all of the events and have met the same and different persons each time, the good part of the dinners you rarely sit next to the same people you met last time so you are always chatting to someone different.

So if you enjoy good company and good dining join us, you will be made very welcome. Oh! If you are like me you know the face but can’t remember a name don’t worry we have badges with our name on it.
